If you are reading this, that means you have made it to the month of November! So, congratulations! Hopefully by now the weather has cooled down and many of you are enjoying the perfect November afternoons in North Carolina. In a few days, all of us will be enjoying Turkey and homemade pumpkin pie (Don’t forget to save me some)! As I consider the month of November, the first thing that comes to mind is thankfulness. I have feeling many of us find the time during this month to reflect on how blessed we are in this life. In fact, someone once said this of November, “November is the month to remind us to be thankful for the many positive things happening in our life.” Therefore, because of November’s emphasis on thanksgiving, I want to take this article and say thank you to everyone involved in the Fall Festival this year. I will finish by offering a few details in regards to several upcoming events at ROSBC.
First of all, the Fall Festival could not have been a success without the help and sacrifice of the many volunteers from ROSBC. We had over 20 trunks for the Trunk or Treat this year (Which allowed us to reach our goal and some!). I am so thankful for those who took the time and to decorate a trunk and pass out candy to children for two hours. I am also thankful for those who donated candy or gave a financial donation for this event. We could not have had a gigantic trunk or treat without candy donations. I also had several people sign up to be greeters and parking attendants. While this may seem like a thankless or unimportant job, let me tell you, it is not! It always is nice to have people to direct you to parking spots and greet you as you enter the Trunk or Treat area. We made sure that his happened, and I am so thankful for those who committed to do this task.
Finally, I am thankful for those who filled trunks with candy, served dinner to our volunteers, and helped take photos at the photo booths. In regards to the photo booth volunteers, these people deserve a gold metal for the effort and time they put into this job. This attraction is always a highlight of many who attend, and I am so grateful for those who could make this possible. Overall, we had over 150 people from the community attend this event, and we are praying for God to move within their lives. This outreach event is such a wonderful opportunity to show our community that we love and care about them. Please join me in praying for the salvation of those who visited our property for the ROSBC Fall Festival. Thank you again to everyone who made this event possible!
As I finish this article, let me share a few details in regards to several upcoming events at ROSBC. First of all, we are having Safari Sunday on November 6, which is our church attendance emphasis day. We are inviting Dan the Animal Man to lead our service that day. He will be showing us unique animals while presenting the gospel to those in attendance. We are asking all of our life groups to set an attendance goal for that Sunday, and we are also encouraging everyone from ROSBC to invite friends, family members, co-workers and neighbors to this event. Everyone in attendance will also be able to take a photo with Dan and an Animal before he or she leaves. If you would like more information or need flyers, promo cards or information to pass out to others, please see me as soon as possible.
Lastly, on November 12, the Children’s Ministry will be sponsoring a shoebox packing party for Operation Christmas Child from 10 AM-2:00 PM. We are asking that all children wait until this day to pack a shoebox. We are also encouraging parents to stay and help put up Christmas lights for Christmas Unplugged. We are hoping to receive financial donations as well to pack more shoeboxes that day. Our goal is to pack 20 shoeboxes, and we cannot make this happen without your support. Consider making a financial donation today. Parents, be sure to pick up an information flyer about the packing party located at the Connection or outside the Element Kids Room. As always, thank you for taking the time to read this article. It is a privilege to serve you and your family. Have a great month of November!
For His Glory Alone,
Children’s Minister | 1 Corinthians 15:10
