To My Church Family - WOW

Dear Church Family: All I can say is WOW. I am still blown away by the 25th year anniversary. I want to publicly express how much I appreciate all the hard work that went into making this day one I will always remember. I want to thank everyone on the committee and all the planning that went into this weekend. I want to thank Bill for his behind the scenes work and for providing the "funeral" bulletin. I want to thank Jeremiah for pulling double duty with the yard sale and the work he did. I want to thank Jonathan for his tiresome work chasing down people for the videos and editing them. I want to thank Christina for doing the Facebook live of the service so that my mom and others could watch. One of my best friends in high school texted me and said he saw it as well as a friend from Savannah. I want to thank Sheila for putting together the pictures. I want to thank the praise team, especially Brian for learning that song on short notice and Chet for singing. Also I wanted to thank Chet for his hard work at the yard sale too and all the youth and parents who helped out. I want to thank my wife Ilene for her words and support. I also want to thank all the special speakers. I want to thank all those who gave a card or wrote a letter or email and thank everyone for the generous love offering from the church family and the deacons. I also wanted to say thank you for the vacation to those who gave it. And thanks for the plaque, the UNC gift and even the blue devil poster. It truly made my day. This day was just the culmination of 25 years of prayer and support from you, my Rose of Sharon family. Thanks for putting up with me and for the many experiences I have had here as your youth minister and pastor. I leave you with the lyrics from the song Brian sang; I’m the pastor at your church For all these years you’ve listened to my words You think I know all the answers But I’ve got doubts and questions too Behind this smile I’m really just like you Afraid and tired and insecure If you look me right in the eye Would you see the real me inside Would you take the time to [Chorus:] Tell me what I need to hear Tell me that I’m not forgotten Show me there’s a God Who can be more than all I’ve ever wanted ‘Cause right now I need a little hope I need to know that I’m not alone Maybe God is calling you tonight To tell me something That might save my life Save my life I am just like everyone Jesus I need You, I need Your Love To save my life I love you and it’s a privilege to be your pastor, Jeff
